About Driven To Excel I looked around the selling environment and noticed something about my co-workers - They were either wasting their time away or hustling like crazy - it seemed to be all or nothing. In a month-to-month business, I saw people going from hero to zero and thought, there must be a better way. I wondered, "How can I secure a more even flow of business? How can I create a steady magnetic force? As an entrepreneur of sorts, how can I build my private practice?" I simply became an honest broker between people's perceived needs and fulfilling those needs. In doing so, I became a great listener - (clients will often tell you that, "Salespeople just don't listen."); As I built up my client base, the repeat and referral business increased more each year. The experience for me never seemed much like work - I was enjoying it too much to consider it so. Soon I was no longer meeting strangers at the door. I had reached a very comfortable 70% repeat & referral sales base. My career became more enjoyable, the hours fewer, closing ratios higher and income virtually limitless. Through building mutually beneficial client relationships and incorporating a marketing plan, I had become a household name. Additionally, my clients cared for me as much as I did for them. I found that I was turning apprehension into a terrific experience - what a turn-around! While other salespeople sat around chatting and discussing the lunch order, clients walked through the door saying, "We're here to see Steve Dorfman. Is Steve Dorfman here? Hi, could you tell us where we can find Steve Dorfman?" Simultaneously, the receptionist would page over the loudspeaker, "Steve Dorfman, line one." This selling life was great. Everyone wanted to buy from me. So then I realized, I can show other people how to do this - how to create this - for themselves. I believe that we as human beings share a common interest - a desire to make a positive difference for another human being. By creating a unique experience for your clients you are distinguishing yourself. While we live in a society of complacency and indifference, it gives those rare individuals like you an easy opportunity to shine. Think about it - how often do you have a wonderful experience as a client? How often are you "wow'd?" If your clients found that in you, do you suppose they might remain loyal? Do you suppose they might want to tell others about you and your services? In April of 2006, I founded Driven To Excel, Inc. and began to work with an experienced business coach. This gentleman had already studied me - and my successful career - for three years. His coaching experience and formal education earning him a Ph.D. in Psychology merged with my eleven years of selling experience. This became a recipe for success. Together we created a curriculum for sales individuals to absolutely excel on every level. As a result, our graduates are leading more powerful lives and finding more joy in the workplace and at home. With a proven training methodology of delivering world-class client service, I soon became a business coach to others and now deliver client service workshops, coupled with team integration and also serve as a motivational speaker.
